2014 Texas South Plains Honor Flight
The Texas South Plains Honor Flight Committee is a non-profit group of volunteers dedicated to honoring the service of area Veterans with a three day trip to Washington DC to see their war memorials.
As advocates and main sponsors of the Texas South Plains Honor Flight, KCBD Newschannel 11 sends members of their crew on the trip annually. Taylor got to attend the trip as a reporter to film, write and edit stories during the trip and organize 3 days of coverage the following month.
During the 3 days of the Honor Flight the KCBD crew sent back video and aired more than 20 live shots from Washington D.C.
The trip included nearly 100 World War II, Vietnam and Korean War veterans.

SHOES FOR ORPHAN SOULS is the largest humanitarian aid project of Buckner International, a global Christian ministry dedicated to making life better for orphans, vulnerable children and families since 1879.
As a partner and sponsor of the Shoes for Orphan Souls project, KCBD sent one reporter and photographer on a mission to Guatelama City with the Buckner International group.
